We are seeking enthusiastic, mature and motivated dance instructors who are willing to train under us and have the opportunity to work and teach at our dance studio in NYC.
This is a part-time position and based on candidates experience and availability. Instructors teach 1 to 1.5 hour group classes and private lessons.
The position also offers opportunities for teaching workshop, corporate events and other off-site Salsa events.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Must be knowledgeable about all services & classes we offer to be able to sell packages and guide the clients in making an informed decision
• Registering guests for classes and processing payments
• Handle multiple people at once & a variety of transactions quickly
• Keeping a tally on number of students in the class
• Making sure the studio is intact, presentable and ready for accepting new clients
• Having an eye for detail!
• Handling customer service emails and text messages
• Managing Instructors Private lesson requests & appointments
• Recording classes & posting videos on social media accounts
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Being professional, on time for lessons, encouraging, and helpful
• Preparing for each class, knowing the syllabus material and knowing how to break it down for leads and followers
• Preparing appropriate music for the level, etc.
• Attend teacher trainings, monthly meetings, practice events for students, etc.
• Six months to one year teaching experience is required. Teaching experience has to be in Latin dance
• Be a positive and dependable leader figure
• Have strong interpersonal and great communication skills
• Have a passion for teaching and educating
• Must be willing to train for our course curriculum in the evenings and/or weekends and willing to be trained on sales and new teaching techniques
• Must be extremely familiar with our services including class packages, events, to be able to communicate with clients
Part time position paid by the class.
Schedule depends on available classes and the candidate's availability. Based on experience, pay could vary from $45 per class to $75 per class.
Event workshops pay varies depending on type of event - ranges from $75-$125.
